How I got started: Since my Mom taught me how to knit when I was 7, I have almost always had a knitting project or two going. When my three daughters were little, I didn't have much time for it...a mother-daughter set of sweaters started in 1984 was finally completed exactly 30 years later in 2014! Now when any or all of my girls come home to visit, we always enjoy some quality knitting time together. My husband passed away in 2014 and when he was sick, we talked about my dream of opening a knitting shop and he thought that would be a good thing for me to do.
I live in the town of Pitkin, Colorado, and really liked the name "Knit Pitkin" (kind of like nit-pickin') so here I am...just starting out in May of 2015.
The photos below were taken by my niece, Dana Malfeld of Colorado Springs, of Dana Sue Photography (check it out on Facebook) in December 2013. My sister, sister-in-law, our combined six daughters, the dogs and I all gathered for a morning of cinnamon rolls, coffee, knitting and lively conversation...such fun!
